THE PROCESSING OF SOYBEAN WAX

A 27.22 Kilogram Bushel is the traditional farm measure. When soybeans are processed they are crushed and pressed to separate the soybean meal from the soybean oil, In each 27.22 Kilogram bushel, 22.23 Kilograms of soy meal and 4.99 Kilograms of soybean oil are produced.

 The 22.23 Kilograms of soy meal is where the protein content of the soybean is, so soy meal is processed into animal feeds and Foods for human consumption such as soy milk, tofu and textured soy protein (a meat substitute such as "veggie" burgers).

Taking the 4.99 Kilograms of soybean oil out of each 27.22 Kilogram bushel and making it into soy wax is done by a process of partial hydrogenation of the soybean oil.

SOYBEAN OIL CONTENT OF SOY WAX

The very high majority percentage of all Soy wax products is soybean oil. A small minority of other vegetable oils are added to achieve better performance characteristics for a smooth and even wax surface, strong fragrance throw, longer shelf life, colour blend and in the case of the votive wax, ease of mould release, It is much more important to us to have the very best wax performance rather than 100% soy content.
